Data Protection
Scope of Data Protection
This privacy policy explains the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the data controller, Léonie Kessler, on this website. We naturally comply with the applicable Swiss data protection legislation; where applicable, we also comply with the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
In this context, “we” refers to myself, Léonie Kessler, and my technical and editorial assistants.
Data Protection
In principle, it is possible to use this website without providing any personal data. Personal data (such as names or email addresses) is only collected if:
- You voluntarily fill in the contact form; we use this data to respond to your enquiry and will not pass it on to third parties without your express consent.
- You voluntarily sign up for the newsletter; the sign-up page is provided by our newsletter partner, Brevo, which stores the data so that the newsletter can be sent out.
We would like to point out that data transmission over the internet (for example, when communicating by email) may be vulnerable to security breaches. It is not possible to guarantee complete protection of data against access by third parties.
We hereby expressly object to the use by third parties of contact details published in accordance with the legal requirement to provide an imprint for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and information material. We expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising material, for example via spam emails.

Handling of Personal Data
Personal data is information that can be used to identify an individual, i.e. details that can be traced back to a specific person. We will only collect, use and disclose personal data where this is permitted by law or where you have consented to the collection of such data.
Contact
When you contact us (for example, via the contact form or by email), your details will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and in case any follow-up questions arise. We will not pass on this data without your consent.
We use Postflex®’s address protection service for receiving post. All sender details are treated as strictly confidential and will not be passed on to third parties by either Postflex® or us without your consent.
Friendly Captcha
We use Friendly Captcha on this website to protect our contact form. Friendly Captcha is an innovative, privacy-friendly security solution designed to make it more difficult for automated programmes and scripts (known as ‘bots’) to use websites, thereby protecting websites from misuse.
This means that when you submit a contact form, your device establishes a connection to Friendly Captcha’s servers. In the background, your device receives a maths problem from Friendly Captcha. Your device solves the maths problem – which uses up certain system resources – and sends the result to this website’s server. This website then contacts the Friendly Captcha server via an interface and receives a response indicating whether the puzzle was solved correctly by the end device. In addition, your device transmits anonymous connection data, environmental data, interaction data and functional data to Friendly Captcha. Friendly Captcha analyses this data to determine the likelihood of the user being a human or a bot, and sends the result back to this website.
All data is used exclusively for the purposes of detecting and dealing with potential bots and risks, as described above. The purpose of processing this data is to ensure the security and proper functioning of this website. Friendly Captcha does not use the data to identify a natural person or for marketing purposes. Friendly Captcha does not store any of your personal data. Data that could identify you (such as IP addresses) is anonymised using one-way hashing. Friendly Captcha does not use HTTP cookies and does not store any data on your device.
By actively using the contact form, you consent to the processing of your data. The processing is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR with your consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without this affecting the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent up until the time of withdrawal.
Enquiries, Changes and Updates
You have the right at any time to obtain, free of charge, information about your stored personal data, its source and recipients, and the purpose of the data processing, as well as the right to have this data rectified, restricted or erased, provided that this does not conflict with any statutory retention obligations.
